Tour of the Universe Final Gig

I was so lucky to attend the last two final Gigs of the ‘Tour of the Universe’ this last weekend in Duesseldorf, Esprit Arena. It was a highly emotional time, especially on date 2, of course, when Dave said Thank you and Goodbye to us Fans.

The shows were a blast and almost every song was performed very powerfully and as a dance-guarantee. Only the first three songs are too slow for the show-start (‘In Chains’, ‘Wrong’ and ‘Hole to feed’ from ‘Sounds of the Universe’, of course)

Especially Martin´s intense performances touched me deeply. His almost Acapella performance of ‘Insight’ on the 26th, ‘Home’, ‘One Caress’, ‘Somebody’ and ‘Dressed in Black’ are exactly what I would like to hear from DM in the future. More classic elements, mixed with old components from all their 30 years of work-experience? Worth a thought, boys.

Anyways, I hope the gentlemen recover thorough from this heavy tour.

Depeche Mode in Berlin

Last Wednesday Depeche Mode entered stage at Olympiastadion Berlin and I had the great pleasure to attend this event. I took my cam with me and made a lot of photos, proof that the boys are back healthy and with a lot of energy.
Dave threw all his power into the performance. He even spoke a few words during the show.

Depeche Mode in Duesseldorf for 2 shows

Now it is official and for real: Depeche Mode will perform two times in Duesseldorf at LTU-Arena next year. The dates are June4th and June5th.

Depeche Mode Press Conference

I was so lucky attend the Depeche Mode Press Conference yesterday at the Olympiastadion Berlin.
Two Song-Snippets called ‘Wrong’ and ‘Peace’ were being introduced to the Fans. They already gave powerful impressions on how the next album could sound. Also, the European Tourdates were announced. A lot of discussions about the ticket pricing overshadowed the chat with Marek Lieberberg a little. Nevertheless, it was an event to remember. DM appeared very relaxed and funny. They gave cool responses to every question of press and fans.

DM to be touring again next year

The plans for a new Depeche Mode tour are in the making! It´s now certain that the band will tour lots of cities in 2009. However, this tour will rather consist of stadium-shows mostly.
DM will most likely be in Germany around June and play approximately six shows here. Also, they will visit Berlin for a press conference on October the 6th.
